Be Green With Envy

This spring summer, green is going to be everywhere. You may spot a lot of Khaki, but brighter shades are all around us too. From the luscious green leaves, to the gorgeous green ballet pumps at White Stuff.  Make your friends green with envy in all your best shades… we all have one. Here's a few tips on what green to go for and what's out there right now.

The colour green for a tonal colour analysis.

Here are my recommended greens for you. If you are a

LIGHT: Blonde hair, light eyes, fair skin. Look out for light, bright and even delicate shades of green. Peacock is my favourite shade, but apple green and mint are great too.

DEEP: Medium to dark hair, dark eyes and any colour skin. Look for darker shades. Colour with depth. Forest green, dark teal and turquoise are good on you. Why not try a dark green eyeliner?

WARM: Shout out to all the redheads. Often very similar to Autumn from the Seasonal colour analysis, Moss, Olive, Khaki and apple are all warm shades. Pair with gold.

COOL: If you have silver, grey or platinum hair. Black or ash hair, a cool skin that burns easily, this could be you. Often green is associated with warmth, however cooler shades of green include Teal, Blue Green and Peppermint.

SMOKEY: If you have little contrast between the tones in your hair, skin and eye, or have eyes that change colour, you could be better in Khaki, Jade or sea green. Keep it pastel.

BRIGHT: If you have eyes that pop, with a strong white to the eye and love bright colour then try Emerald and other bright greens and wear them in contrast with a light or really dark shade like black/brown.

You can add colour into your wardrobe in many ways. Dress head to in this natural calming colour and just add a splash.

When it comes to shades like peppermint, teal or turquoise, these are what we call blue green shades. They still count, especially when you are a cool dominant.

You can wear green with your best neutrals to create a calming or smart look. For example:

Light I would look at rose brown, soft white and peacock.

Deep, forest green, cream and black brown

Warm would get moss, chocolate and Ivory.

Cool could use Navy, turquoise and white

Smokey,  Jade, french navy and sea green as your white.

Bright needs Black brown, emerald and mint for contrast

If wearing too much green seems for too much for you to digest, why not try adding simple touches like a belt, bag, nail polish, green eyeliner, or shoe to your outfit. As long as it’s a green in the right shade, tone and depth, it will work with even just your jeans and a tee.

Take a look at these trainer. Which are you most drawn too? Are they the best green for you?
